ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION IN B.Sc. IN H & HA
Minimum Qualification
1. Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of senior secondary education of any recognized central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education.
List of approved qualifying examinations for Indian Students:
2. Intermediate or two-year pre-university examination conducted by a recognized board/university.
3. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
4. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
5. Any public school/Board/university examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of senior secondary education.
6. H.S.C. vocational Examination.
7. Senior secondary school examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the subjects.
Age Limit
For candidates from General and OBC categories (Non-creamy layer) upper age limit is 22 years as on 1.7.2010, therefore, only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after July 01, 1988 eligible to apply. Prescribed format of OBC Certificate is given in the web-site for reference. Certificate of OBC other than the prescribed format or caste not falling under the central list shall not be considered for reservation under OBC category. The OBC certificate should not be more than one year old and should be issued in favour of the candidate. In the case of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates upper age limit is 25 years as on 01.7.2010, as such only those SC/ST candidates whose date of birth falls on or after July 01, 1985 willbe eligible.
Upper age limit for physically challenged candidates shall be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to since physically challenged category candidates may belongs to General/SC/ST/OBC categories. Date of birth as recorded in the secondary education board/pre-university certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of admission, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for the admissions.
Documents required in support of claim for reservation under SC, ST and OBC(Non-Creamy Layer)
The certificate of SC,ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer) categories is required to be issued by the District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/ Collector/Deputy Commissioner/Additional Deputy Commissioner/Deputy Collector/ First Class Stipendiary Magistrate /City Magistrate/Sub Divisional Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate / Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar/ Sub Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his/her family normally resides/ Administrator/Secretary to Administrator/ Development Officer(Lakshadweep Island). Certificate issued by any other authority will not be accepted.
Admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/documents to be produced by the candidates at the time of admission to the Institute. Even after admission to the Institute, if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of having submitted false information or testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited.
Candidates are required to produce the original Caste Certificate along with attested copy at the time of admission.
